Aanleiding voor de uitnodiging was een recente studie van twee Deense onderzoekers, die studie hadden gedaan over de integratie van de vele Nederlandse boeren die zich in de jaren negentig in Denemarken (met name in het zuidwesten van Jutland) hadden gevestigd en een modern landbouwbedrijf hadden opgebouwd.
